Welcome Package

Dear Students,

Welcome to OSTİM Technical University and the Faculty of Engineering. This guide has been prepared to help you easily adapt to campus life and quickly access the information you may need during your first days.

Transportation to Campus

 Metro:

  • The OSTİM station (M1 Törekent–Kızılay line) is a 5-minute walk from the university.
  • The travel time between two stops is approximately 2 minutes. ​
  • The journey from OSTİM to Kızılay takes about 20 minutes.
  • Traveling from OSTİM to AŞTİ takes around 32 minutes with a transfer to the A1 line at Kızılay.

Dolmuş:

  • It departs from the stop across from the OSTİM metro station (a 2-minute walk).
  • Transportation is available to Etimesgut (~20 min), Sincan (~36 min), Fatih (~45 min), and many other districts (Keçiören, Ulus, Bahçelievler, Emek, Pursaklar, Saray, Şentepe, Karşıyaka, Yenikent, Yapracık, Eryaman, Akyurt, Kahramankazan).​

Building & Elevators

There are 3 different elevators located in Block F of our university’s main campus:

  • Student Elevator: Operates only between the ground floor and the 3rd floor.
  • Staff/Special Card Elevator: Accessible with a special card and prioritized for academic staff. Students may request assistance from security personnel to reach the upper floors.
  • Service Elevator: Primarily reserved for university staff and operates with a special card.


Dining & Cafeterias

  • Block F, Ground Floor – Arabica Café: Coffee, desserts, sandwiches, seating area.

  • Block F, 2nd Floor – Cafeteria: Meals, toast, simit, tea, coffee; a menu and price list are available at the entrance.

  • Block F, 3rd Floor – Cafeteria: Meals, toast, sandwiches, beverages, etc. This cafeteria also has a terrace.

  • Block A, 3rd Floor – Cafeteria: Meals, coffee, desserts, etc. This cafeteria also features a terrace.


Library & Study Areas

  • Our university’s library, located in Block F of the Main Campus, offers: A 956 m² area, 210 seating capacity, and a shelf capacity of 25,000 books
  • 3 group study rooms
  • Open shelf system (LC classification)
  • KOHA automation system for search, renewal, and reservation
  • Wireless internet, scanning computers, printers, and photocopy services
  • Membership in TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM EKUAL and ANKOS
  • Access to 17 international databases​


 Health & Psychological Support

  • Infirmary: Main Campus, Block F, Ground Floor, Room Z-50. Open on weekdays from 08:30 to 17:30.
  • First aid and ambulance coordination are provided free of charge.
  • Psychological Counseling and Guidance: Located at Main Campus, Block F, Ground Floor, Office Z-50. Face-to-face or online sessions are available. Appointments can be scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 08:30 and 17:30.

Sports Areas & Fitness Center

Main Campus

  • Outdoor Astroturf Field: Open for daytime use. Lighting is required for nighttime use. The entrance gate lock system has been renewed.
  • Multi-Purpose Outdoor Court (Volleyball/Basketball/Tennis): The ground is ready; basketball hoops, net posts, and nets have been installed. The entrance gate lock system has been renewed.
  • Fitness Hall: Equipment procurement has been completed. After addressing remaining deficiencies, it will be opened for use in the new academic year. Usage instructions have been posted at the entrance. Locker rooms and restrooms have been cleaned, and work has begun to implement a numbered lock system for the lockers.

Fitness & Conditioning Center

Fitness means “being healthy and in shape.” Since each individual’s age, lifestyle, and body type differ, training programs should be personalized. Therefore, it is recommended to train under the supervision of a professional instructor.

Usage Rules

  • Always carry a towel with you.
  • Do not enter the gym without sportswear.
  • Report any malfunction or hazard in the equipment you use to the staff.
  • Train only according to the program provided by the instructor.
  • Do not bring food or beverages into the gym, except water.
  • Do not use mobile phones on cardio machines.
  • When using the treadmill, step onto it only after the belt has started moving.
  • Return weights to their proper place after use; do not leave dumbbells or plates on the floor or benches.
  • Do not keep valuables with you; the university is not responsible for any loss.

Preparatory Campus

Internet & Wi-Fi

High-speed Wi-Fi service is available throughout the campus, with 4 different network options:

  • cahitarf Network: Reserved exclusively for our academic and administrative staff, this network is protected with advanced security protocols and accessible only to authorized users. Password information is shared solely by the Information Management Department to ensure security.
  • personel mobil Network: Designed to allow staff to connect easily and securely via mobile devices. This network is protected through authentication and encryption methods, and password details can be obtained through the Information Management Department.
  • Student Wifi Network: Dedicated to student use, this network provides fast connectivity and easy access. No password is required on the first login. Instead, students are asked to provide their name, surname, and mobile phone number, after which a one-time verification code is sent via SMS for secure access. This method ensures a verified, controlled, and safe internet experience for students.
  • OstimTech-Guest Wifi Network: Specifically designated for our guests during university events. Depending on the type of event, the username and password details are provided when necessary by the Information Management Department.
